Job Summary and Main Purpose

The EDI Lead will be responsible for leading and shaping the development of EDI strategy, and integrating EDI principles and plans across the Club and Community Trust.

The postholder will play a key role in developing EDI initiatives, programmes and projects which challenge inequality and discrimination, promote social integration and build community cohesion.

Key Responsibilities

· Responsible for the development and implementation of an overall Equality & Diversity strategy across both the Club and Community Trust, reflecting the ambition of embedding EDI fully and in line with organisational strategic objectives.

· Ensuring the development of appropriate policies and procedures that are consistent with best practice and UK employment law.

· Lead on delivery and achievement of required EDI standards set by relevant organisations including the EFL Equality Code of Practice and Capability Code of Practice.

· Development and implementation of Club and Community Trust action plans, handbook and policy to embed and achieve strategic objectives.

· Engage with, and lead where appropriate, external stakeholder groups, working alongside colleagues to inform the content and direction of group meetings.

· Engage with internal stakeholders at all levels to fully embed EDI initiatives, including Chairing the Internal Inclusion Group, working collaboratively with the Club Disability Access Officer and the development of Equality Impact Assessments.

· Lead on the collation of data and analysis to evidence compliance with external regulatory and legislative requirements.

· Lead on the development of meaningful and robust monitoring and reporting processes to assess the success of performance against the EDI objectives, including monthly and annual reporting.

· Analysing internal and external data to drive and shape decision making and the development of internal initiatives.

· Lead on communication and engagement at all levels both internally and externally, including newsletters, website, community use of the stadium and disadvantaged/underrepresented groups.

· Supporting and responding to local and national campaigns.

· Design and deliver inspiring community events to promote inclusive opportunities that capture the imagination of all participants, e.g. tournaments, competitions, assemblies and match day activations.

· Oversee the reporting and responses/remedies/rehabilitation to complaints of discrimination, and the regular external communications to supporters, participants etc.

· To develop, facilitate and deliver a programme of training that ensures that all staff are up to date with the latest training regarding to EDI, including job specific training, Board member training and mental health awareness and support.

· To monitor and update staff training records to ensure that all staff have the most relevant and up to date EDI training.

· Support Board to undertake a full EDI audit on an annual basis and offer ongoing support to Trustees (in particular the Board Lead for EDI).

· Design, facilitate and review a staff equality audit

· To ensure that the Trust Equality Statement is reviewed and adopted at Board every year.

· To liaise with key partners such as the Premier League and English Football League on all matters relating to EDI.

· To work across the local, regional, and national network, identifying and sharing good practice in relation to EDI.

· Develop partnerships with local community groups/organisations to ensure that the Club and Community Trust gain insight into all of its EDI work programmes.

· Look at the supporter base of DCFC and work to address under-representation on a matchday.

· To uphold and promote all Trust policies and procedures.

· To present and promote an appropriate public image in representing the organisation.

· To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with the post.

General Responsibilities

· Ensuring continuous compliance with the requirements of relevant Health & Safety and Data Protection legislation. · It is essential that there is a consistent and effective approach to the process of identification and management of risks across the Trust. The escalation of risk within an organisation is a key mechanism for ensuring that risk is managed at the appropriate level by the appropriate individuals. All staff have a duty to ensure compliance with the Trust’s Risk Management policies and procedures.

· Demonstrating the impact of DCCT programmes is a key performance indicator for the Trust. Capturing, recording, and analysing data is essential in supporting this. All staff are required to ensure they play their role where applicable.

· The assurance of quality is fundamental for all work undertaken by DCCT and should be implemented by all staff in their work. To that effect DCCT shall: Regularly monitor and measure the quality of its work methods, outputs and outcomes with a view to ensuring high quality standards, best value and continuous improvement.
