We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Personal Advisors to join our Looked After Children Through Care Teams based in Chippenham and Salisbury.
LIVE WORK SUPPORT
The teams work with children who are in the care of the local authority and also provides an after-care service for post 16-year olds up to the age of 25.
About the role
As a Personal Advisor, you will provide a direct service to young people preparing to leave local authority care and will ensure continued support is offered to care-leavers in the community. You will be working in partnership with young people, carers and other colleagues to assess the individual needs of young people leaving local authority care.
This is a varied role which will involve advising and assisting in the drawing up, implementation and review of young people's pathway to independence plans. This will involve attending and contribution to reviews and meetings as well as providing advice, information and support to other colleagues and building effective working relationships with key agencies.
About you
You will have experience of working directly with children, young people and families, you will have a good knowledge of the assessment process and supporting young people into adulthood. As well as this, you will have the ability to remain organised, and maintain accurate plans, reports and records.
We will expect you to be enthusiastic and experienced in working with young people either in a paid or voluntary capacity. You will have an understanding of the needs of young people in care, be practical, solution focused and have good written and verbal communication skills.
You will be equipped with the ability to manage competing caseload demands and have a strong and genuine commitment to championing the needs of vulnerable children and young people.
