This role is part time for fixed Term for 2 years.

As a Project Organiser you will be responsible for the Routes of Social Change, heritage walks project. Engaging with staff, volunteers, participants and community groups including schools to create and launch toolkits including audio and visual guides for specified routes for heritage walks.
WEA in the North East region have created an innovative History Walks project called the Routes of Social Change. A set of modular, mapped walking trails through the rich social History of the North East of England.
We are looking for a candidate who will have the skills to organise, coordinate, compile reports and develop the project which uses digital technology such as apps for audio and visual learning.
The project walks, span an area above and below the Tyne, covering the areas surrounding and including Newbiggin-by-the-Sea to Spennymoor and Corbridge to South Shields, with learning and training taking place at venues near the routes.




Reporting to the Senior Area Education Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible for the successful delivery of the Routes of Social Change project through recruitment of participants and support of their learner journey. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the project meets the requirements of the contract, which includes that all necessary administrative tasks are accurately completed and meet the necessary specifications of the contract.
A key part of the role is the engagement of community groups to build meaningful partnerships in the local area.
