Safety Coordinator - Glass

Walters & Wolf Glass is currently seeking individuals to fill Safety Coordinator positions in Fremont, California.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with safety managers about the requirements and content for safety meetings, including weekly facilitation of Safety Tailgate Meetings.
• Collaborate with Field and Shop Operations to organize and prepare quarterly safety meeting materials.
• Assist the safety managers and or safety director with project safety requirements and prepare site specific safety plans.
• Collaborating with all plant and field foreman, to ensure safety compliance.
• Work with the safety managers to reduce lost employee time and eliminate hazards.
• Keep a record of all safety training classes, injury documentation, and all safety related materials.
• Coordinate with Field and Shop to maintain and supply all safety equipment.
• Coordinate and facilitate mobile equipment safety training and certification.
• Training of plant and field personnel on all new equipment.
• Coordination with the Shop and Field on all proper safety material applications.
• Train for rough terrain forklifts, vertical mast lift trucks, boom lifts, scissor lifts, mobile cranes, and hoisting apparatuses.
• Coordinate First Aid/CPR training.
• Host New Hire Safety Orientation.
• Tool specific training and inspection.
• Job Site inspection walks with general contractors, insurance carriers, and OSHA as needed.

• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
• Excellent leadership skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• 3+ years as a Safety Coordinator.
• 2+ construction industry background.
• Must be OSHA 500 certified.
