Melett Ltd, a Wabtec Company, are recruiting an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team in Barnsley.
You will assist the Quality Manager in controlling the quality of products coming into the company to ensure product meets specification and assist other departments in the resolution of internal quality issues or concerns.
You will:
- Use manual measuring equipment to validate components to drawing specifications
- Use CMM to measure components
- Validate product via the goods inwards inspection sampling process
- Complete goods inwards inspection reports
- Identify any con-conforming products and take corrective actions
- Work closely with the development department on new sample approvals
Skills and experience
- Previous experience of working within an engineering environment
- Experienced in the use of manual measuring equipment
- Have a full understanding of geometric tolerances and engineering drawings
- It would be desirable if you have experience in operating a 3 axis co-ordinate measuring machine (CMM) and profile projector.
