Consult Nurse – Northampton
Do you enjoy consults and meeting clients? Want more responsibility and progression?
Our brand new state of the art hospital has been open since October 2022 and we are looking for another consulting nurse to join our 30 nurse team. We value the input RVNs make to the team, and are looking to increase the amount of procedures and consulting the RVNS can do under the changes to the "under our care" regulations.
We are open to a flexible way of working – you can choose shift times and working patterns to suit your needs/ life outside of work. We can offer a part time or full time role to applicants, and are open to it being a job-share role. Term time only or annualised hour’s contracts available. The ideal candidate would be required to undertake some weekend work - the details of this can be discussed on application.

What does the role involve?
- Schedule 3 consults e.g. Cryo surgery, euthanasia’s, minor procedures
- Vaccines
- Monthly medicated injections
- Medication checks
- Long term medical case care e.g. diabetics, arthritis clinics etc.
- Blood tests
- Reporting results
- Surgery aftercare
- wound clinics
- Puppy/kitten appointments
- Triages
Our appointments are 15 minutes but we do double up on more complex and extensive consults.
