Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University?

The University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) have an exciting opportunity for a Project Administrator to join our AMRC Machining Group.

In this role, you will provide project administration support to the Machining Group. You will support project teams and staff within the group in administrative tasks such as ordering and purchasing items from SAP, organising and booking of travel and accommodation for staff and preparing documents (e.g. spreadsheets, timesheets etc) for the wide and varied Machining group projects you will support.

As a Project Administrator, you will work on various topics and themes across the whole Machining Group, with support and guidance from your Line Manager and the group’s head of project management. The progression route for this role is through a Project Management line and you would be encouraged to progress to one day becoming a Project Coordinator.

For this role, you will have:
  • 5 x GCSEs, grade C and above including English and Maths (or equivalent experience)
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, especially where at times the content may be technical and unfamiliar.
  • Management of information, including capturing actions, carrying out and follow up of actions.
  • Ability to develop creative approaches to problem solving.
About the Team
We are part of the AMRC with Boeing which focuses on the research, development and application of state-of-the-art technologies. We have an excellent track record of developing technology and integrating it into a shop floor environment to demonstrate financial benefit to partners. This ability to translate technological advances into bottom line savings has led to a large growth in demand from especially its aerospace partners and a growing need for skilled engineers with an interest in manufacturing.

About the University
We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
