Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University? We have an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for development in higher education to work with both the Researcher and People Development teams, in a newly established role to specifically enhance the development and support offer for our academic colleagues.

As an Academic Developer you will have experience in designing and delivering learning interventions that enable our colleagues to develop. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, using coaching skills to build effective relationships and create a high-quality learning environment. You will have a good understanding of key trends in Learning and Development and be able to ensure that our offers support the University’s ambitions in research, innovation and education alongside those of inclusion and wellbeing.

You will join the Researcher Development team which is based within Research Services and provides the full range of support to enable academic researchers and postgraduate research students to fund and undertake high quality research and to use the findings of this research for economic and social benefit. You will also spend time in the People Development team which is part of the Organisational Development & Employee Engagement team in HR. This varied and dynamic role offers you the opportunity to influence policy and procedures, in collaboration with a wide range of colleagues, playing a key part in improving the University’s Research Culture.

We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit you and University and we’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
