We are seeking a highly motivated problem-solver keen to improve services in a busy University library. This is an exciting opportunity for a Library Experience & Engagement Manager to ensure we engage with our users and remain responsive to their requirements and to be responsible for the delivery, management and development of our front-line Library services.

This is an interesting time to join our modern and vibrant Library as we are keen to understand how our spaces can best be used by our University community in the post-pandemic environment. This post, reporting to the Associate Director (Systems & User Services), will have responsibility for our front-facing services and teams, overseeing the usage of the library’s physical spaces and services. You will develop and maintain a programme of continuous evaluation and improvement of our services and facilities using innovative and tailored solutions to ensure we deliver an excellent user experience. You will direct our promotional and engagement activities, networking with both internal and external stakeholders and partners. You will also carry out quantitative and qualitative analysis of user feedback in order to support and inform the Library’s service planning and delivery.

You will have:

  • The ability to think strategically and adapt services to meet changing needs
  • The talent to develop and deliver service excellence in a customer focussed environment
  • A flexible and creative approach to problem resolution
  • Experience of managing and developing staff to deliver high quality forward-facing services
  • Familiarity with current developments in Higher Education and in libraries
