The role sits within the Global Opportunities department. The department has two main aims namely a) to deliver international mobility and exchange opportunities to the University's students and staff and b) to support and develop the University’s Trans-national Education (TNE) partnerships. Together these aims support the University in taking forward its internationalisation strategy. This position is primarily to support Trans-National Education partnerships and to promote short-term international mobility for students.

TNE partnerships pose very particular operational issues, not least because of the differences in time, language, culture and the distances involved. In particular there is a need to coordinate the process of quality assurance and enhancement across different schools and colleges both locally and with the staff counterparts at each of the partner institutions. This role entails carrying out that coordination, providing lines of communication between the relevant people and ensuring that a high-quality and reliable service is provided.

In addition the role will address student mobility. The University has set ambitious targets for the number of students who gain an international experience as part of their study. In this aspect of the role you will work with academic and other colleagues to collate existing mobility opportunities and develop and promote new international experiences. The focus for this aspect will be Short Term Mobility experiences (usually those of less than one semester in duration).

The role will be dynamic, busy and challenging, with very tangible rewards in terms of student success and direct feedback from those who participate. The role would suit someone with good organisational and communication skills in order to maximise the visibility and uptake of these opportunities.

The post is advertised as full-time but consideration will also be given to candidates interested in working on a part-time basis.
