Teaching Fellow - Photography

UE07: £35,333.00 - £42,155.00 (Hourly rate: £19.36 - £23.10 plus annual leave allowance), Per Annum, Pro Rata.

College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences / Centre for Open Learning / Open Studies.

Open Ended Contract - Permanent; Part Time: 10 Guaranteed Hours towards the end of 2022/23 academic year for introduction and familiarisation with the Centre for Open Learning and course materials) and a minimum of 40 Guaranteed Hours for 2023/24 academic year.

We are looking for a teaching colleague to provide preparation, planning and delivery as the course teaching fellow in Darkroom and Digital Photography, for established non-credit and credit bearing courses, which introduces and supports the development of student’s skills and techniques of the discipline, as well as fostering knowledge, understanding and contextual awareness of the subject specialism being studied.

The Opportunity:

The successful candidate will be a graduate with relevant teaching experience, have excellent communication skills and be able to fulfil the administrative responsibilities related to teaching. This post is offered on a guaranteed hours basis with the expectation that the appointee will teach a minimum of one evening per week during term-time and minimum of one term per year, depending on enrolments.

Your skills and attributes for success:

• First Degree and/or postgraduate qualification in relevant subject and/or significant experience and standing in a professional practice-based background relevant to the subject area
• Experience of learning, teaching and scholarship in areas relevant to the subject area e.g., Higher Education, Further Education, Continuing Education and/or Widening Participation
• Up-to-date knowledge of current theory and practice in teaching, learning, course/materials design and assessment in the subject area
• Excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to fulfil the administrative responsibilities
• Membership of the Higher Education Academy and/or completion of a formal tertiary teaching qualification
