We are looking for an individual with experience in building and maintaining HPC environments.

About the role:

You will be joining the University of Bath's Research Computing team at an exciting time as we have recently moved to full cloud supercomputing. This role is pivotal in advancing the University’s research capabilities and guiding our HPC community on how to use our new cloud environment to its full potential.

As a Research Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative HPC solutions to help our research community thrive. You will work closely with colleagues across the University and apply your in-depth expertise to develop integrated and automated workflows with a focus on performance and optimization.

You will also help develop the HPC knowledge and skills of our growing user community by providing support, promoting the adoption of best practices, and delivering technical training courses.

About the department:

The Research Computing team is part of the Digital, Data and Technology Group.

We aim to provide a technological environment that matches the University's international, teaching and research reputation, and which contributes to the realization of its key institutional strategies.

We supply powerful research computing environments to academic staff and doctoral students from all departments. Our research software development experts enable the research community at the University to analyse data, develop research software, optimise your usage of cloud computing, and provide programming skills training.

We strive to respond intuitively to both the ever-evolving needs of our users, and the wide diversity of those users through the exploration of new and emerging technologies.
