About us

Student and Registry Services is one of the larger Professional Services divisions at UCL, providing essential services to UCL’s 50,000 students, 160,000 applicants and for supporting academic departments and administrative staff in delivering a high-quality student experience. The Student Funding Office (SFO) is responsible for coordinating the provision of funding support and advice to current and prospective UCL students. Through the various scholarship, bursary, and loan schemes on offer they process approximately 8000 applications each year and support awardees across more than 100 schemes. They are also responsible for maintaining the relationships with key funding partners and for the development of UCL’s financial support for students.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join UCL’s Student Funding team as a Senior Student Funding Officer. This role is based in the Postgraduate Funding sub team, covering: scholarships; bursaries and loans for Research and Masters students and Initial Teacher Training; UCL’s Financial Assistance Fund; and US and Canadian loans. You will manage specific postgraduate research (PGR) award schemes as allocated by the Student Funding Manager, from promotion to payment of schemes, post award administration, run our PGR scholar community event programme and complete annual financial returns. The postholder will also work closely with the Student Funding Manager to develop policy and to identify and implement process efficiencies using relevant data analysis. You will handle student and staff enquiries, participate in open day events and be proactive in building links with internal and external stakeholders. In addition to line managing one of the Student Funding Officers, you will be required to deputise for the Student Funding Manager when necessary. If you have any queries about the role, please contact Clare Hewitt at: c.hewitt@ucl.ac.uk
