About the role
The appointee will work as a Research Assistant on a study developing a remote communication partner training intervention called Better Conversations with Primary Progressive Aphasia and other rare dementias funded by the NIHR. The work will involve coproducing the intervention with people with lived experience and designing and delivering an intervention trial. This will include recruiting participants, conducting baseline and post-intervention assessments and delivering the intervention. The post-holder will set-up and maintain a project database. He/she will support effective management of the project through organisation of project meetings. The post-holder will contribute to dissemination of the project methods and findings through presentations at conferences and the preparation of written reports. The post holder will be expected to undertake a funded PhD during the time they are working as a Research Assistant on this study. The post is available from 1st September 2023 on UCL Grade 6 salary £34,502-£36,348 per annum and is funded for 3 years in the first instance. About you
The candidate must have a speech and language therapy qualification, and experience in working with people with dementia/aphasia in a clinical setting. The candidate must register to undertake a funded PhD during the time they are working as a Research Assistant on this study. The project involves qualitative and quantitative research methods and good database management skills are required.
