The Department of Clinical and Movement Neurosciences is a world-leading group that brings together expertise across the clinical and basic science spectrum of the physiology and pathology of human movement and movement disorders. The Department incorporates groups from the Queen Square and Royal Free campuses of the Institute and includes the Reta Lila Weston Institute and the Movement Disorders Centre.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled researcher with a good knowledge of coordinating clinical, lab, and data management activities to join the Department of Clinical and Movement Neuroscience under the supervision of Professor Huw Morris.

The project will involve coordinating the collaboration across multiple sites and overseeing the collation and analysis of clinical and genetic data from 100,000 study participants, as part of a collaborative team, based at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology.

You will be primarily responsible for liaising with global study sites – introducing them to the study, liaising with the ASAP-GP2 compliance team, ensuring smooth transfer of samples and data, and harmonising clinical data.

The overall study is led by Dr Andy Singleton, the cohort integration working group is led by Prof Huw Morris. As the project develops it will move from cohort recruitment to data analysis.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong research background looking to develop their research experience and skills.

An honorary contract will be sought from UCLH NHS Foundation Trust, for which a DBS check will be required.

The post is available from March 2023 and is funded by a grant from the GP2 programme to 31 December 2023 in the first instance.

About you

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, self-directed with excellent organisation skills, capable of working collaboratively in a team of researchers, while maintaining independent thinking and initiative. Experience in liaising with study sites in multi-site studies, with genetics and/or data analysis, IT proficiency at advanced user level, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work without close supervision are also required.

This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL welcomes applications from international applicants who require a visa.
