About us

Reporting to the Head of CEHP, the successful applicants will have the chance to join the dynamic and friendly team on the UCL Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and in the UCL’s Division of Psychology and Language Sciences (PALS). The UCL Doctorate in Clinical Psychology is the largest training course for clinical psychologists in Europe, and is just one part of a comprehensive programme of postgraduate psychological training programmes at UCL, including Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Clinical Associate Psychologist programmes. Psychology at UCL was ranked 1st in the UK and 2nd in the world in the 2022 Shanghai Ranking of World Universities. This reflects excellent links between teaching, professional training and research within PALS, the wide range of research expertise represented both on the DClinPsy and other psychological practitioner courses and within PALS and UCL more widely, and the excellent opportunities for collaboration and interdisciplinary research provided at UCL.

About the role

We are looking to appoint a Lecturer for 12 months to provide maternity cover in UCL’s Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology (CEHP). This is a chance to develop experience of university teaching in a lively, supportive and creative team. The role is mainly based in CEHP’s Clinical Psychology Doctorate (DClinPsy) course, although the postholder will contribute to several courses across the Department. The key activities of the role are: 1. Organising and teaching on modules for UCL’s DClinPsy, Psychology BSc and Psychological Science MSc. 2. Helping with assessment activities in CEHP, for example, marking exams and course work. 3. Contributing to courses’ (in particular the DClinPsy’s) systems of personal and professional development and support, by acting as a Course Tutor to an agreed number of trainees. 4. Supporting the DClinPsy’s clinical academic pathway, that seeks to promote development of clinical scientists amongst DClinPsy students. 5. Contributing to selection for the DClinPsy.
