Your role
Would you like to help us enhance our client experience, now and for the future? Are you client orientated with high risk awareness?
- This role will be responsible for the regulatory aspects of IB tax operations such as the filings around the transaction taxes, annual FATCA / AEI submissions on behalf of the Investment Bank involvement in the withholding tax space tax position for Equities, Fixed income as well as Prime Brokerage client businesses.
- The role requires a diligent individual who has a good understanding of risk , as well as Tax Compliance and reputational risk are important to adhere to with this position.
- Has to have an understanding of double taxation treaties and withholding tax filings as well as relief at source processes.
Your team
The current Team is made up of 8 individuals who are responsible for all aspects of Withholding tax , Transaction tax and Client and tax reporting for the Investment Bank.
Operational Taxes has seen an increase in recent years as governments globally react to the financial crisis and as the focus on tax revenue collection increases. This increase in tax activity requires the team to implement new processes and review existing ones to support these taxes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would like to make a direct contribution in managing operational tax risk within the Firm, looking at controls and pnl.

Your expertise
- We are looking for a candidate who has a strong background in Tax Operations with detailed knowledge of Global withholding tax treatments, Transaction taxes and FATCA /AEI tax reporting.
- A candidate who is driven to provide consistently high standards, keen to identify and resolve issues, will challenge existing processes and controls whilst working with cross functional teams to implement operational improvements.
- An analytical individual who is good at problem solving, has very close attention to detail with a record of identifying and dealing with issues as they arise as well as being self motivated, self-driven and excited by an Tax operational role with changing priorities and objectives often with tight deadlines.
- Must possess strong team working skills, willing to put forward ideas and challenge current practice , strong communicator with good organization skills as it will involve communicating to a large variety of people at many different levels within the firm.
