Hello, content creators!

We're Populate, Cardiff's homegrown social media marketing agency. We create content for brands all across the UK and Europe, primarily focused on the B2C space.

We're currently searching for an accomplished content creator to join our Cardiff crew. Think you have what it takes?

This role's for the social media obsessed. Because why should you get off your phone? You're keeping up with trends, and that's valuable work.
When it comes to video edits, short and snappy is your thing. You're not just a great video editor, either, you're confident shooting with a camera, too.
Photography skills are a must. But we're not talking pretty landscapes and selfies. We mean product photography. If you can make people go, "ooh, I'll buy that", we want you onboard.
Quick heads up, this shouldn't be your first rodeo, you have a varied portfolio full of social-focused video and photography. If you can make work that looks like this, pop the kettle on because we'd love to chat.
Our ideal candidate will come pre-packaged with industry experience. You'll need to own projects from start to finish and be comfortable injecting your ideas and expertise. Agency experience is ideal, but we’re also open to speaking to freelancers too, your entrepreneurial spirit inspires us.

Your skill set:

• Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro + exp. editing content natively within TikTok and Instagram
• Audio editing
• Planning and running shoots — you’ll have filmed and photographed social media and online content for brands before

• Proficiency in camera work, lighting and audio, in-studio and on-location • Happy working solo and in teams

• Animation/Motion design skills are a plus
• A full UK driving license is desirable

Kiss goodbye the mundanity of a regular schedule. Every day at Populate is different; some days you'll be in-office editing videos (and adding motion design to your content if that's your thing) or collaborating with our creative team. Other days you'll be on location, shooting footage for our clients or creating Reels and TikToks.
You’ll work alongside our in-house Motion and Graphic Designers in our small but mighty creative team. You'll also have everyday interactions with our Account Management team and Head of Social to breathe life into our clients' visions. Confidence flying solo on shoots and the ability to come away with great, social-first content is crucial.
From time to time, you’ll work with our New Business team, pitching ideas and preparing content for proposals. And some days, you'll focus on pre-production for a shoot, pulling together mood boards, mood videos and shot lists, etc. You’ll be given a variety of briefs, some looser than others, and it's then up to you to work with Account Management to present a creative idea.
This is a hybrid role. You will be required to come into the office from time to time. Where you work outside of those hours is up to you.

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities will include:

• Creating social content

• Filming and photographing content using a variety of equipment & techniques • Assembling, preparing and setting up equipment before filming

• Maintaining camera equipment
• Hitting tight deadlines—social moves fast!
• Juggling multiple projects simultaneously
• Travelling for shoots and meetings with clients
• Occasional work outside of office hours
