The Garlic Farm in Newchurch is a popular Island food business with very active ecommerce and wholesale departments, selling our garlic products to customers all over the UK. Our small team are friendly, welcoming, committed, and hard-working.

We are looking for a WAREHOUSE PICKER/PACKER to join our team at The Garlic Farm warehouse. The successful candidate will be required to have a flexible approach and be enthusiastic to learn since this job will cover many distinct tasks.

Day to day tasks including but not limited to:

• Picking & packing 100's of orders daily for our multi-channel business.
• Receiving incoming goods
• Keep a safe and clean working environment and help to optimise warehouse space and efficiencies.
• Meet deadlines for couriers and postal collections daily
• End of day duties - creating manifests for couriers
• Work with our Team to prioritise orders, especially during busy periods
• Ensure all processes and tasks are completed to timescales
• Other general warehouse duties as and when required
• Be able to assist with stock taking
• Some admin tasks relating to dispatching orders will be required on an ad-hoc basis

Skills and experience:

• Must be able to lift and move boxes of up to 20KG and be physically fit
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
• Excellent I.T. skills, and be able to learn and pick-up new systems quickly
• Proactive, self-motivated, and disciplined
• Ability to plan and prioritise different types of orders
• Be able to maintain a calm and flexible attitude to work
• Be able to remain calm under high pressure
• Able to cope being on your feet all day!
• Knowledge of how to stack and wrap pallets, an advantage
• Forklift drivers ticket, an advantage

Working hours will vary and average around 30+ hours per week, however during busy periods you can expect these hours to increase, and be in excess of 40 hrs per week and will include weekends as required. Early mornings starts of 7am, will be required. During busy periods, overtime & Saturday hours will be expected. Please do not apply if you are unable to do these extra hours.

Please note this is a very physical job and you will be on your feet all day, and be required to wear safety boots and PPE.
