When constructed in 1779, Bodmin Jail was an innovative milestone in prison design with its individual cells and sanitation. Now a four-star luxury hotel, The Bodmin Jail Hotel provides guests with a haven of style and comfort, set within its breath-taking historic surroundings. Located in the heart of Cornwall, this truly unique hotel is now ready for new stories, cherished memories and unlimited possibilities. It’s an iconic building and we are building a brilliant team to help shape and deliver the best experience in Cornwall. The day-time tavern and night-time bistro-style restaurant, combined with the adjacent Bodmin Jail Museum, offer the chance of courtyard dining to soak up all the heritage and intrigue of this amazing property.
Front of House (reception and reservations)
As we continue our journey to deliver true luxury, we understand just how important the Front of House department is, they play a key part throughout our guests experience and our team need to be on hand to help whenever it’s needed. From the first call, the welcoming ‘hello’ right through to an authentic ‘until next time’ the front of house team are the font of all knowledge. It is being able to offer this bespoke and personal service that is key to what sets us apart. To be successful the key qualifications and experience we need or prefer:
- Previous experience of working in a guest care position, minimum 1 year (preferred 3 years)
- Experience of working in a high-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal English
- Strong team ethics
- Demonstrable employer loyalty
- Experience of 4- star hotels (preferred)
- Experience of working with a PMS system (preferred and Oracle a distinct advantage)
