About the Role

Base Location: Flexible across the UK, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key Scottish sites, which include but are not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness or Edinburgh.

Salary: £28,300 - £42,500 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

The SSEN Transmission Communications team is responsible for proactively protecting and enhancing the reputation of SSEN Transmission. It works closely with the media and utilises traditional and digital channels to communicate Transmission's business successes, project updates and financial performance, to support its business objectives.

As Website and Social Media Officer, you'll support the Senior Communications Manager in the development and management of SSEN Transmission's digital channels, including:

  • Supporting the timely flow of well-presented content on SSEN Transmission's website (www.ssen-transmission.co.uk) and associated social media channels.
  • Identifying opportunities for proactive and reactive online engagement, in support of SSEN Transmission's communication objectives.
  • Creating digital content that promotes, protects and enhances SSEN Transmission's reputation.
  • Thorough measurement of online reach and evaluation of the effectiveness of SSEN Transmission's digital output.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Experience in, and an enthusiasm for, website content management and analysis as well as capability with social media (including paid-for promotional activity).
  • Knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media with a drive and passion for digital communications.
  • A desire to learn about creative content production including the use of video, photography, animation and graphics.
  • Excellent organisational, project management and problem-solving skills with a focus on setting priorities, managing processes and delivering results under tight timescales.
  • The ability to translate complex data into contextualised conclusions, in order to impact an evolving digital communications strategy.
  • Ideally, a relevant qualification in a related subject such as digital communications; marketing; graphic design; PR and communications; or something similar.
  • Understanding of the energy sector and the associated infrastructure, as well as an understanding of the SSEN Transmission business ideally.
