Solihull Health Visiting Team are Recruiting a Community Nursery Nurse.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hardworking, friendly, team player to join our service working across the Borough of Solihull.
Hours available 22.5 – 37.5 hours per week.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of individuals and expects all staff to share this commitment. As part of our safe recruitment practice, it is a mandatory requirement for all newly appointed staff requiring a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to be registered with the DBS Update Service. All eligible staff recruited to the Trust are expected to maintain their annual update subscription whilst employed with the Trust as a condition of employment.

The Community Nursery Nurse will work both independently and as part of the health visiting team to promote positive outcomes for children and young people. The main duties include supporting parents/carers by providing information and support /care interventions on a wide range of health issues including child development, toileting, behaviour management individually and in groups.

Undertake delegated work to improve health outcomes for children and families in the community setting, in a variety of ways including 1:1 work, group work, home visiting, nursery settings and advice via telephone and video call.
Undertakes delegated pieces of work with families who request support.
Submit accurate and timely activity and outcome data to ensure that key performance indicator targets set by the Trust/and or the local authority are monitored, and outcomes achieved.
Support health needs assessment undertake tasks delegated by the health visitor including; developmental assessments accepting and responding to re-assigned work, deliver brief interventions and feedback progress to the health visitor.
To have a knowledge and understanding of current child protection guidelines, recognising if children are in need of protection and report concerns to health visitor in line with Trust and local safeguarding policy and procedures.
Support the team to deliver health public health initiatives a year which are consistent with nation/local messages.
Work collaboratively with other members of the health visiting team to deliver services, face-to-face and virtually.
Respond appropriately to general enquires from parents/carers and nursery staff/other professionals referring back to the health visitor.
To act as a resource to nurseries, parents/carers and provide information on health initiatives, e.g. healthy eating.
Follow and adhere to the standards and guidelines set for Health Visiting to ensure a consistent approach is followed.
Support the uptake of the childhood immunisation programme when opportunities arise with contacts with children and families.
Ensure that confidentiality is upheld at all times, as per trust guidelines.
Attend the Trust statutory and mandatory training programme specific to the role ensuring that training completed follows the essential skills policy including regular appraisal.
Participate in/access group or team clinical supervision.
Participate in and contribute to team/locality meetings to keep up to date with trust information.
In accordance with trust guidelines for record keeping, maintain and keep contemporaneous records in whatever form they present, e.g. text, phone calls.
Measurable Result Areas
Participate in clinical audits and clinical bench marking to improve service care and delivery.
Communications and Working Relationships
Support the local induction/training programmes for new staff, and other appropriate workers.
Support the clinical leader in the delivery of the service, ensuring and maintaining high standards of evidence-based practice within the locality.
Promote positive team working by attending weekly base meetings. Discussing delegated work ensuring that work set and identified is feedback and completed.
Promote the health visiting team positively to other agencies and professionals.

Maintain a professional attitude at all times, in the best interests of the profession and in accordance with Trust values.
Work to agreed Trust Policies and procedures which support the Clinical Governance agenda.
Review and reflect on own practice through accessing clinical, restorative and child protection supervision.
