South Coast Port Services are a Labour Provider for our customers across the port of Southampton.
Once we receive a labour request, we will assign workers from our part time register to that job based on the individual’s availability.
For Health and Safety Port Regulations there is a minimum age requirement of 18 to apply.
Our baggage handlers work a variety of shift patterns including weekends to provide support to all Cruise Terminals and Operators on cruise ship days across the port of Southampton. The work is flexible based on the cruise ship days of ships coming into port or leaving the port.
The baggage handlers move passengers’ luggage carefully and securely onto the ship for passengers boarding or into clearly marked bays for disembarking passengers to collect.
Some shifts may be providing a meet and greet service for passengers to where luggage should be dropped off & providing assistance if asked to do so.
Luggage trolleys are provided; however, some heavy lifting will still be required up to 25 kilos per item. There can also be a substantial amount of walking required throughout the shift.
The ideal candidate will be confident in communicating, reliable and well presented, willing to abide by the company dress code and all safety and security measures directed by our customers and Port Authorities.

Salary: £9.88-£11.48 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Face Masks are required in certain areas of the port. Hand Washing and sanitization essential.
