Santander’s Technology and Operations organisation is involved in a deep transformation to support evolving Customer and Business needs: Open business model, Innovation, agility, efficiency and security.

Technology is evolving to integrate digital key capabilities and innovation levers, based in a common open architecture and collaborative ways or working, between business and technology teams. This transformation requires the implementation of:

  • A new operating model that will enable the business to prioritise and drive change while IT retains control over delivery and technology and cyber risk
  • A common service model and technology architecture that allows consistency and collaborative work across technology and operations.
  • The implementation of technology pillars enabling short time to market and open business models.
  • Evolve internal capabilities and skills to anticipate and deliver business innovation, quality of service and security.
  • A culture of trust, collaboration, and transparency.

To achieve these goals Santander UK has launched a Technology and Operations Transformation program and unit focused on the implementation of a new Operating Model, encompassing the evolution into new ways of working together with the implementation of technology our pillars.

The difference you’ll make.

  • Collaborating and leading multiple stakeholders inside and outside the T&O division to drive transformation.
  • Optimizing technology and operations processes.
  • Identifying and analysing the key building blocks of our technology & operations services.
  • Identifying possible risks of all natures (financial, operational, etc) and managing them (mitigate, escalate, etc)
  • Catalysing transformation supporting the communication and change management efforts in technology and operations.
  • Focusing on the transition to the new Operating Model by contributing to the Change Management strategy definition and implementation.

What you’ll bring.

  • Extensive expert knowledge in Technology managements roles in Retail and Commercial Banking
  • Demonstrable experience working closely, and in many cases leading, multidisciplinary teams together with members of human resources, organization, finance, compliance, cyber, & technology
  • Proven project management and change management experience as part of the implementation of deep transformations in Business and Technology areas, including new ways of working.

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Structured, detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability of easily grasping the broad picture
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Get things done attitude being a strong work ethics role model; Self-motivated and able to strongly motivate teams.

What else you need to know.

Travel abroad within Europe might be required on some occasions.

  • Competitive salary
  • Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus
