We are currently recruiting for a Dispatch Operative to join the busy print production and finishing department of our Creative Production Agency.

The role

Based from our premises in central Lincoln, the primary purpose of this role is to ensure safe and efficient pick, pack, and dispatch of finished printed goods, ensuring quality standards are maintained and deadlines are met whilst adhering to health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Picking and packing printed items ready for dispatch via internal transport and 3rd party couriers.
  • Inputting delivery instructions into supplier portals.
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers as well as external logistics companies.
  • Keeping accurate stock records.
  • Assisting with guillotining, lamination, and adhoc finishing requirements.
  • Ensuring that all lifting and moving is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
  • Conform with company ISO 9001 quality standards and ISO 14001 environmental standards.
  • Health and Safety as per company and departmental procedures.
  • Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Full training will be given to the successful candidate.

Excellent organisational and time management skills are essential. You will need to have the ability to develop and instigate good working practices, and have a structured approach to working, together with being able to set and follow a routine and prioritise tasks.

You will need to be able to improvise and think on your feet, and to resolve problems under your own initiative. Excellent communication skills are key to maintaining a good relationship with staff, customers and suppliers.

  • Adaptable in approach to work to meet operational requirements.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Knowledge of warehousing goods in and goods out process.
  • An understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Current clean driving license – advantageous.
  • Experience of the print finishing process – advantageous.

Terms/Benefits

  • The job will be a salaried position, based on a standard 37.5 hour week.
  • Hours of work will be between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
  • 26 days holiday per year (half a day per week worked) + Bank Holidays.
  • Any overtime will be paid at a standard time and a half rate.
  • Company Pension Scheme.
