Working as an Audio Mixer and Audio Manager, you’ll be responsible for mixing audio across all PSN content which includes full-length documentaries for our premium VOD service GCN+, our YouTube channels (GCN, GMBN, GTN, EMBN, GCN Tech, GMBN Tech, and international channels), promos, trailers and content for broadcast on Eurosport. The role will also include occasional sound design work creating audio elements/SFX to compliment video and on-screen visual effects and graphics.
You will work in Pro Tools and Adobe Audition, therefore experience of these is essential, as well as a good understanding of the iZotope RX family of plug-ins. You will be overseeing and working as part of a small team to maximise the quality of the audio in a variety of video projects and will be expected to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods. Due to the wide range of environments in which our content is produced and the resulting technical challenges, strong audio restoration skills are essential. As well as having excellent attention to detail, you must be confident working in headphones, as well as with studio monitors. This is a hybrid working position so a good home setup for audio is needed.
This is a full time position and not a freelance/contractor role.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- Responsible for performing mixing, audio restoration, audio balancing, sound design, foley and mastering across any content for which it is required
- Responsible for selecting or creating all sound effects for a specific production.
- Managing two other audio mixers
- Have well-developed communication skills and the ability to work flexibly in a team with a wide range of different people
- Have a great ear for good well-balanced audio, and be enthusiastic about sound in general.
- The ability to continually develop your skills and keep abreast of constantly changing technologies
- Work with a wide range of people including creators, editors, presenters and visual effects artists
- Manipulate and create high quality sound design deliverables
- Ensure permission and rights have been granted for any material used
- Deliver quality work to strict deadlines.
- Maintain internal file structures and project organisation systems
- Other reasonable duties, as directed by the senior creative team
