The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) is the world’s largest alliance of national societies of obstetrics and gynaecology, bringing together professionals from more than 130 countries and territories. For over 65 years, FIGO has collaborated with the world’s top health, rights and donor bodies. We are in official relations with the World Health Organization and consultative status with the United Nations. The breadth and depth of FIGO’s reach puts the alliance in an unparalleled position to convene, collaborate, advocate and mobilise across the spectrum of practitioners, policymakers, and the public as the global voice for women’s health.

We are dedicated to the improvement of the health and rights of women and girls and to the reduction of disparities in health care, as well as to advancing the science and practice of obstetrics and gynaecology. We pursue our mission through education, research implementation, advocacy and capacity building with our member societies.

We are now seeking our next Chief Executive to lead FIGO forward with our Strategy Plan to 2030, developing the organisation and building and strengthening FIGO’s international networks with diversified stakeholders. Supported by the Deputy Chief Executive and FIGO management team, and working closely with the President, new Chief Executive will provide strong operational and strategic leadership to the organisation, as well as leading fundraising and profile-raising activities.

A highly effective operational leader with proven business skills gained in an international environment, you will bring experience of leading and inspiring a diverse staff within a large and complex organisation. With deep knowledge of public health, you will have excellent communication skills and the credibility to engage with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally, including members, staff, Trustees and Council members; bringing people along with you to deliver our shared vision.

The role is based from FIGO House, Waterloo, London SE1, with some international travel required. The salary range for this role is £150,000- £180,000, with additional benefits attached.

Perrett Laver will conduct an executive search process in parallel with the public advertisement of the role. Longlisted candidates will be invited to interview with Perrett Laver in late March-early April and the Selection Panel will subsequently meet to decide upon a final shortlist for the post in April, following which, interviews with the Selection Committee will take place in early May.
