Based in Bristol UK, PADI EMEA currently have a Maternity Cover opportunity for a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Speciaist, working as part of our team in Bristol, and reporting to the CSR Director at PADI Worldwide in the USA. The role is offered on a temporary basis until the current job-holder returns from maternity leave (approximately August 2024).

The ideal candidate will be able to attend the Bristol office for in-person training and for our fortnightly In-Office days. There is an option for UK-based remote working for the remainder of the time. There may also be a requirement for a small amount of travel within and outside of the UK.

ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the CSR Director, this role executes key initiatives that define PADI as both an aspirational consumer brand and responsible company, positioning it globally as a key changemaker for healing and ocean change.

This role supports the global director in driving forward PADI’s CSR Strategy, understood as PADI Pillars of Change: Ocean Conservation, Industry Sustainability and People & Humanity. Our mission is to create a billion Torchbearers to explore and protect the ocean.

PADI CSR Team seeks to empower divers to take conservation action for global impact, mobilise dive industry leaders to raise the environmental standards of diving, foster diversity and inclusion in diving and support local communities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop PADI as an aspirational consumer brand that is mission-driven to drive global ocean change and impact.
  • Contribute creatively to the curation of new global initiatives and partnership relations that bring PADI to the global stage in line with our mission and CSR agenda.
  • Advance PADI’s roadmap to a billion Torchbearers and work cross-functionally within the organisation to drive consumer engagement and grow our collective influence as a force for good.
  • Support PADI AWARE Foundation to deliver the goals of PADI’s Blueprint for Ocean Action, a bold 10-yr conservation strategy that addresses marine debris, vulnerable species protection and habitat loss.
  • Actively engage with and understand the perspective of PADI Professionals, pinpointing sustainability and inclusivity challenges and seeking out practical solutions that aid behavioral/business practice change on an industry level.
  • Assist in developing regular updates/reports on partnerships, CSR roadmap, strategic initiatives, and results to identify key learnings and opportunities for increased momentum, engagement and integration.
  • Oversee and maintain communications that increase awareness of and engagement in PADI’s mission-driven work with PADI Staff, pro audiences and consumers across PR, Email, Social, Web and Magazines.
  • Be adept at identifying, curating and communicating PADI’s position on key issues, including via live webinars and phone conversations with PADI Staff, Professional Members.
  • Assist in preparing standout presentations for CEO, CBO, or Director, CSR to represent PADI and be able to articulate our CSR agenda with key non-profit and industry partners, including speaking engagements at notable global and national events and conferences.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Proven track record of formulating and embedding relevant sustainability and/or social initiatives within an organisation.
  • High-level project management skills, including responsibility for executing MarCom plans and project timelines.
  • A solid understanding of PADI as an organisation and community, with an appreciation of our global nature, culture and values.
  • 2+ years of CSR, Marketing, Content or Brand Management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, CSR, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Scuba Diving certification is desirable, but not essential.
  • Social Media and/or content production experience is desirable, but not essential.

COMPETENCIES NEEDED ARE:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to read, analyse, and interpret a wide range of articles and reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from manager, members, customers and the general public.
  • Hands-on approach to tackling tasks - an action oriented, self-starter who can take initiative.
  • Creative and innovative team-player who invests in a collaborative working environment.
  • Ability to develop cross functional support and corporate partnerships that benefit all in a meaningful way.
  • Fluency in other languages besides English would be beneficial, but not essential.
