About the role


We currently have a vacancy for a qualified Social worker within the North Hospital Social work team, based at the Horton General. With a small number of acute medical wards, specialist wards and a busy Emergency Department the hospital plays a key role in the overall Health & Social Care provision to the people of Oxfordshire. Social Workers are vital members of the MDT, helping embed a strength-based approach to discharge planning and working together to support patient flow throughout the system. We attend daily ward rounds, Professionals and DTOC meetings, as well as working closely with community-based colleagues and third sector organisations. The pace is fast, the work is interesting and varied and this post is an opportunity to enhance your experience, skills, and knowledge at the interface of Health and Social Care.


The contractual base for this role is the Horton Hospital in Banbury, however applicants will need to have the willingness and ability to travel in accordance with the demands of the work and the job profile


About you


Flexible yet thorough in your approach, you’ll be ready to work with other professionals in a fast-moving hospital setting. As a qualified Social Worker you’ll have excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to different kinds of people and the motivation to grow in your role through personal and professional development.
