Bricklaying Tutor

Optimum Skills are a leading training provider delivering Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Pre-employment and Commercial Training.

Due to our continued growth, we are looking to add to our delivery team with a driven and motivated individual to undertake the role of Bricklaying Tutor. The role will be based within the Construction Academy in Newcastle although travel will be required when visiting learners and employers so own transport is essential.

Responsibilities:

· To deliver current apprenticeships standards training on 1:1 or group basis.

· To undertake appropriate initial assessment of learners to ascertain starting point of apprenticeship.

· To deliver learning in the workplace when required.

· To work with employers in order maintain own caseload of learners.

· To maintain up-to-date and accurate records for each individual learner according to internal procedures.

· To carry out regular progress reviews with learners and employers in order to track progression towards timely completions for EPA.

· To comply with the quality strategy in order to ensure that training is delivered to a high standard.

· To provide progression, retention and achievement information.

· Prepare and adapt teaching materials in a contextualised way to enable all learners to progress.

· Meet internal KPI targets.

You will need:

Bricklaying or Industry recognised competency (minimum 3-year industry experience).

Minimum 12 months experience in tutoring/assessing with relevant qualifications, or willingness to work towards.

A positive outlook and the ability to work with a wide variety of learners.
