Airport Security Officer at Liverpool John Lennon Airport

Are you interested in a career in the aviation sector? Optime is looking for Security Officers to join a prestigious client at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. This role is open to applicants who have no previous security experience and a genuine interest in aviation, customer service and security.

All necessary training will be fully paid and provided by sector experts including support in obtaining relevant background checks. There is on-site mentoring and clear career pathways leading to specialist management roles within our client's team, so think big!

What’s on offer?

• £10.42 - £11.10 per hour initially (plus pension and holiday) £11.10 per hour once you have completed your X-ray screening training.
• Earliest Start 4am
• Latest Finish 11:30pm
• Shift Pattern: 5 x ON, 2 x OFF and 5 x ON, 3 x OFF
• Shifts can vary in length but will not exceed 12 hours
• 40 hours per week
• Free staff car parking

What you’ll be doing:

• Using equipment and manual search techniques to ensure that no prohibited articles are taken into secure airport areas.
• Carrying out regular patrols around airside and landside locations, access control, and passenger and x-ray screening.
• Attending to and investigating reports of incidents.
• Using equipment and manual search techniques to ensure that no prohibited articles are taken into secure airport areas.
• Completing documentation clearly and concisely on any incidents that may have occurred.
• Responding to and assisting with emergency situations.
• Maintaining the highest level of customer service and satisfaction at all times.

The ideal candidate:

• Flexible - You must be able to work early and late shifts
• Outstanding customer service. You will be working closely with the public so the ability to build a good rapport with passengers is essential.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels
• Ability to stay calm under pressure
• Team player
• Must be over 18
• Must have resided in the UK for the last 3 consecutive years due to the enhanced background checks required.
• Previous airport and/or security experience would be beneficial

Please note: As this is an airport role, successful candidates must pass security checks in line with CAA regulations. These checks include 5-year work and address history, DBS (must have no disqualifying criminal convictions), CTC and valid Right to Work.
