About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Commercial Legal Team as a Paralegal focusing on a full range of data protection matters, advising on day-to-day queries as well as reviewing data process clauses and checking legal documents for quality, consistency and content.


In this role you will assist with various ad hoc projects, carry out legal research and present results whilst staying abreast of data protection law that might impact the business and support any change related activity.

In this role, you will be

  • Managing an ongoing workload of data protection agreements

  • Carrying out legal research and presenting results in written and oral form

  • Staying abreast of changes to data protection law that may impact the business and supporting any change related activity

  • Carrying out transfer impact assessments

  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating data processing clauses in commercial contracts

  • Assisting with the collation and presentation of information

  • Preparing and checking legal documents for quality, consistency and content

  • Supporting on preparing and updating data privacy materials (including templates and playbooks)

  • Proof reading and summarising legal documents

  • Reviewing contracts and policy documents

  • Instructing external counsel and reviewing advice

  • Working on general administrative tasks

About you

  • Law degree or alternative legal qualification

  • Previous experience as a Paralegal or similar

  • An interest in data protection

  • Ability to conduct legal research

  • Ability to analyse and present data and information simply and clearly

  • Strong commercial awareness

  • Ability to work well within a team environment and build relationships

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Strong stakeholder management skills

  • Self-starter who can work autonomously and solve problems

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload

Desirable:

  • Work experience either in a law firm or an in-house legal team

  • Previous experience within the tech industry and data protection regulation
