Salary: £28,371 per annum rising to £30,151 per annumon first year of anniversary – pro rata for part time (subject to satisfactory completion of probation period)

We are pleased to announce we are re-opening Nottingham Castle, and as part of this great news, we have a fantastic opportunity to hire a Heritage Volunteer Lead.

The successful candidate will manage, coordinate, actively participate on site and deliver a sustainable volunteer and work-placement programme. The programme supports the Service Strategic Plan and the sustainability of heritage sites through community engagement. The Heritage Volunteer Lead will act an advocate for the sites and provide additional management support, as directed. The successful candidate will supervise and coordinate the provision of an effective volunteer team, monitoring workloads, coaching, training and ensuring deadlines are met. The successful candidate will manage a sustainable volunteer programme which supports the development of new and diverse audiences for the museum service.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

· A good working knowledge of IT, including Word, Excel, email and databases

· Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload

· Knowledge of Health & Safety and Risk Assessment in relation to providing a service for the public

· Practical Knowledge and experience of working with volunteer management in a heritage site, outdoor and customer service environment

· Excellent interpersonal skills and able to provide a high level of customer/colleague service and to ensure individual needs are met and a polite and efficient manner with telephone and face to face enquiries

· Ability to work across all museum sites, including evening, weekends and bank holidays
