Job overview

We are excited to be recruiting into this new permanent 0.6 wte Band 7/8a Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Neuropsychologist post to support stroke and neurological patients in the Trafford Community Stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation Team (CSNRT). Please note: applicants must have completed at least the first year of the PGDip in Neuropsychology to be considered for an 8a position. Funding arrangements are in place for the PGDip and successful completion of the first year of the course allows you to be considered for the 8a position.

The Trafford CSNRT is a welcoming, ambitious and enthusiastic team with a wealth of expertise, making it a great place to work. There is a focus on multi-disciplinary working and goal setting to achieve the best outcomes with the patients and their support systems. We provide assessment and intervention for people across Trafford who have a broad range of neurological conditions, stroke and acquired brain injuries.

Main duties of the job

To provide clinical psychology/neuropsychologically-informed assessments, formulations, and interventions for persons referred to the Trafford CSNRT for MDT input. This includes individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke and acquired brain injury.

To support the CSNRT MDT in working with these client groups.

To monitor outcomes with clients.

To support research, audit and service evaluations within Trafford CSNRT.

To provide training to other members of the MDT.

You will join one of the largest Neuropsychology teams in the country. We are a group of highly committed and supportive clinicians who work across inpatient, outpatient and community settings supported by an excellent administrative and managerial team.

The person will benefit from the supervision structure and peer support of the department and the additional CPD opportunities afforded here.

We are looking for a proactive and creative individual who has a keen interest in clinical work and in developing evidence based, inclusive clinical neuropsychology services.
