The Service
REST is an acronym for Recover, Eat, Support, Talk. REST Hubs offer a safe space where individuals can feel confident and comfortable talking about their mental health needs. All REST Hubs are designed and laid out as a Psychological Information Environment while adopting a non-clinical approach. We strive to ensure we provide a person-centred support to service users whilst under our duty of care, providing a brief intervention, emotional support and service navigational assistance for people experiencing Mental Health difficulties.

We work closely with various partners to ensure individuals in community have the support they need to thrive, grow, recover and excel. Our REST Hubs are a great place to work with supportive staff, friendly environment and a flexible working approach. You can check out the REST Thetford Hub video by clicking this link.

Two services are delivered through the REST Hub namely:
Day Time Service & Evening Sanctuary. The Evening Sanctuary focuses on supporting individuals who are in crisis using various de-escalation methods and techniques. The team work closely with other NHS and Blue light services to help reduce hospitalisation where not required. Staff are provided adequate training to ensure they have the skill and knowledge to deliver an excellent, safe service. The Evening Sanctuary runs from 6:30pm - 12 midnight (7 days a week).

The Role
We are looking for an experience Team Leader for our Evening Sanctuary who is passionate about providing excellent service, leadership and committed to continuously development. As a Team Leader, you will provide day-to-day support for staff on shift and ensure they understand and follow relevant procedures. You will help individuals accessing the Evening Sanctuary to regain and refocus on their support networks while providing a safe place for them to regroup and recover.

Our Team Leaders are empathetic, open, accommodating and caring. You will be based in the Thetford REST Hub and work alongside x2 Intensive Crisis Worker on each shift. You will have experience of liaising with GP surgeries, NHS professionals, Councils and other statutory & non-statutory services to provide a holistic approach for individuals who seek crisis support. The role is best suited for individuals who perceive themselves as calm, problem solvers, flexible and quick to learn.

A typical working day as a Team Leader in the Evening Sanctuary may involve, receiving handover from the day team after arriving at 6pm. Checking emails and phone calls for urgent/immediate on-night referrals and confirming appointment. You may also receive calls from Blue Light Services such as the police and Ambulance, carry out an initial assessment of suitability and accept or refuse referrals that are sent to the Sanctuary. Where required you will support team members in de-escalating difficult situations and offering guidance either through speaking with the on-call manager or using own experience/training. You will also ensure staff record information appropriately on the system and that full handover is provided to the Day Hub staff when they arrive the following day.
