We're looking for a Communications & Marketing Officer to join our fantastic team here at the Fermanagh Properties which looks after Castle Coole, Crom Estate and Florence Court.

What it's like to work here:County Fermanagh is in the West of Northern Ireland, approximately 2 hours from Belfast and Dublin. Fermanagh is a rural community which borders the Republic of Ireland. Our properties are set in wonderful landscapes; Castle Coole is the finest neo classical House in Ireland, with its exquisite architecture and collection, located on the edge of Enniskillen the county primary town.

Florence Court is located 8 miles from Enniskillen and close to the border with the Republic of Ireland. Florence Court is the Trust's most westerly property. The beautiful demesne is set against Benaughlin and Cuilcagh mountains. Crom's 2,000 acre estate consists of tranquil islands and ancient woodlands and is haven to a wealth of wildlife including fallow deer, otters and herons.

What you'll be doing:Day to day you will develop and deliver our marketing and communications plan to help achieve our ambitious targets and reach out to new and existing audiences. This will include supporting with advertising activities and creating promotional materials and content across all media platforms - with a clear focus on great content for our websites and social media channels.

We're looking for someone who can help us reach new and more diverse audiences alongside partnership building with our local communities and stakeholders. You’ll have the confidence, communication skills and curiosity to proactively connect with a wide range of colleagues to learn what’s going on all around the portfolio. You'll work as part of a team to make sure that we're sharing the best stories we can. You’ll drive marketing campaigns to attract visitors to our places and spaces, spread the word about places to visit in the great outdoors and raise awareness of our core messages and conservation work.

Working in partnership with external organisations will be important, aligning messaging between partners where appropriate. Internal communication will also be part of your role, making sure staff and volunteers within the portfolio feel connected and engaged with what’s happening on the ground at the different locations.

It is expected that you’ll be based at Florence Court but have a 3-property remit. You will play a part with duty management as weekend, bank holiday and evening working may be required.


  • Who we're looking forPractical experience in a marketing and communications role, with a good understanding of how different channels can be used effectively
  • Experience of developing and planning local marketing and communication plans and content
  • Good eye for design and presentation with and understanding of brand management
  • Proven track record in creating, using and editing content across different channels, based on audience insight and evaluation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of information shared
  • Good team player, able to motive others to build storing relationships
  • Well organised and able to manage multiple pieces of work in order to meet deadlines
