About the role

We are looking for two credible and sensitive Investigators to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

Working as an Investigator, you will conduct a wide variety of business conduct, HR disciplinary, fraud and ethical investigations across the UK National Grid business. You’ll be able to adopt a systematic and thorough approach, make sure lessons learned are identified and investigation recommendations are made to improve business controls.

Reporting into an Investigation Manager, you will provide support in developing investigative capability within the organisation and become a Subject Matter Expert, acting as a point of advice and support ensuring consistency on investigations.

Showcasing your excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building skills, you’ll interact with a range of stakeholders of all levels and provide timely investigative advice and guidance.

You will help to design and deliver Investigation training to all levels of the business when needed and using your sound analytical skills design and develop management information and KPIs relating to investigations, controls, and recommendations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced investigator, ideally with experience of both a law enforcement and corporate investigations background, who can exercise sound and balanced judgement in a sensitive and high-profile environment.

We’d hope to see you in the Warwick office one day a week, but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you.

About you

  • Solid experience in an investigative role – with a blend of law enforcement and corporate investigations experience ideally.
  • Experienced in conducting investigations, analysing complex information, writing reports and making carefully argued recommendations based on investigation findings
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify and interpret relevant legislation, regulations, or procedural requirements to appropriately apply them to the matter under investigation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to capture all important facts and opinions to enable the drafting of detailed reports
  • A highly proficient, interpersonal communicator who can assist in achieving practical solutions that benefit the organisation and who can express complex ideas in simple language.

What we can offer you

A competitive salary between £45,000 -£53,000– dependent on capability

You’ll also benefit from:
  • An annual performance bonus
  • 26 days annual leave plus eight statutory days (and the option to buy more)
  • A generous contributory pension scheme - we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%
  • Life insurance – x 10 annual salary
  • Flexible benefits (share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology scheme, support via the employee assistance line and matched charity giving plus more)
  • Generous family friendly policies and family care benefits
  • Financial support to help cover the cost of professional memberships subscriptions
  • Access to numerous apps which support health, fitness and wellbeing.

We offer flexible working arrangements and happy to discuss flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you.

About us

National Grid touches the lives of almost everyone in the UK, with an energy network that stretches across the Atlantic. We’re an international team, and our work underpins the lives of millions of people. Feet forwards, head up, and eyes bright, we’re working hard to create value for people today – and shape the future of energy tomorrow.

In the UK, we don’t generate or sell energy – we join the dots to get energy from A to B. From making a cup of tea in the morning, to keeping the lights on in hospitals, our electricity network puts power in the hands of people. Without it, the world as we know it would grind to a halt.
