Join us on the Journey...

We are looking for a Product Owner who is a clear thinker with vision, energy, attention to detail and drive, to manage and improve the content management system (CMS) used to manage our UK websites, including www.nationalexpress.com and www.nxbus.co.uk. You might be in an existing product role or alternatively have similar experience supporting the development of digital products where you could bring your transferable skills to be a success in the role.

The team culture is friendly, passionate, positive, focused and committed to progress across our processes and products, with a high sense of ownership - this is what we are looking for with all new hires.

What you'll do...

  • As part of our 2023 roadmap we’re looking to upgrade our CMS. You’ll help to lead this project working with a variety of stakeholders across the business, including UX, marketing, customer and our agency partner.
  • Champion the product vision, engaging and garnering a passion for the product from the team; ensuring all team members understand priorities from a business and customer perspective
  • Comfortable and confident making fast paced decisions and ensuring that the product is aligned to business outcomes, solves customer problems and provides a great user experience
  • Manage the Product Roadmap; managing and coordinating discovery activities and forging strong relationships with stakeholders across the business that feed into the roadmap
  • Ensure a continuous pipeline of new features and regularly communicate product success to stakeholders, including working with our CRO team to test new features and functionality
  • Set and own various metrics related to your area and work with our data team to monitor the impact of new releases, including using Google Analytics and other data sources to report, interpret and make recommendations for change
  • Play an active part in ensuring product uptime and high quality experience for our customers, focusing on stability, performance and security
  • Research and analyse the market, including competition and industry peers
  • Implement technical SEO recommendations from our agency partner

What we're looking for...

Essential

  • Experience working in a digital environment, in a similarly fast paced and growing business, ideally with some previous experience working in product management
  • Experience of using Content Management Systems, ideally Umbraco CMS
  • Experience with managing and prioritising stakeholder requirements
  • Experience working within teams managing digital transformation
  • Understanding of CX and UX and how it relates to the website performance

Desirable

  • Experience of using Google Analytics and MS Excel to review and interpret data to make recommendations for positive change
  • Experience within the transport sector

In return, we offer a wide range of benefits such as...

  • £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
  • Company pension
  • Free Coach and West Midlands Bus travel
  • Access to NX Health Bus
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Variety of deals and discounts available through NX online portal
  • Flexible working - 1 day minimum per week in the office, with most of the team working between 1-3 days per week in the Birmingham office
