Job Summary

Moog Inc. is a worldwide designer, manufacturer, and integrator of precision motion control products and systems. Our high-performance systems control military and commercial aircraft, satellites and space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, industrial machinery, wind energy, marine applications, and medical equipment.

We have a unique opportunity for a Management Accountant Trainee to join us at our Tewkesbury Aerospace site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone educated to Degree level with a view to kick starting a career in Finance while working towards a professional accountancy qualification.

On a day-to-day basis you will work closely with each member of our small Finance Team in order to learn their roles and support them.

The core elements you will be working on will include costing and the administration of worldwide intercompany recharges as well as assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts reporting both to internal management and to the Corporate Finance Function at our US Head Office in Buffalo NY. A key element to this is the reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts outside the Payable and Receivable areas. You will also work closely with our External Auditors to expedite the completion of the year end Statutory Accounts.

As you progress in your career you will take on instrumental roles in projects and process improvement roles in addition to the duties highlighted above.

Key skills

• A University Degree or equivalent Higher Education Diploma, preferably but not exclusively in a relevant subject.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and to prioritise own work. You will always be able to call on help but a common sense independent approach is an asset.
• Flexibility and good communication skills to include a positive team-player attitude
• Good analytical abilities allied to good IT skills . A strong working knowledge of Excel is required and previous SAP experience would be a welcome bonus.
• Desire to learn and progress through qualifications
