MTS is the largest network of IELTS test centres in the UK and Ireland. We are looking for more IELTS Speaking Test Examiners to add to our growing pool of examiners, especially to work in central Manchester, but also anywhere in the UK and Ireland, including home-workers.
We are looking for around 5 IELTS Speaking Test Examiners to be based in central Manchester.
We are looking for a large number of home-workers (via the new IELTS Video Conferencing Speaking (VCS) model.
We are also looking for in-person examiners at all our venues in the UK and Ireland.
Ideally you will be one of the following:
- Already an approved and active IELTS Speaking Test Examiner with the British Council
- Already an approved and active IELTS Speaking Test Examiner with IDP Australia
- A recently lapsed (3 months or less) IELTS Speaking Test Examiner with the British Council
- If you meet the Person Specification outlined below, but you do not yet have approved status with either British Council or IDP we would interested in hearing from you as we may bring you through the approval process with the British Council.
- Casual worker contract for “piece work” (workers are paid per task they do). No minimum guaranteed income or hours worked for the piece work completed.
Salary/pay:
- MTS’s IELTS Examiners are paid £30 per hour (equates to 3 candidates examined with an allowance for a break).
Expenses:
Homeworkers doing VCS video examining will not be eligible for expenses reimbursement.
- Ideally already a British Council or IDP Australia IELTS Examiner (or recently lapsed one if with the British Council).
- An undergraduate degree or a qualification(s) that can be demonstrated to be equivalent to an undergraduate degree.
- A recognised qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL/TEFL) or recognized equivalent as part of a recognised university award course.
- At least 3 years’ full time (or the equivalent part time) relevant TESOL teaching experience (minimum one year post-certificate level qualification). The majority of this teaching experience must relate to adult students (16 years and over).
- Relevant professional attributes and good interpersonal skills / customer care skills.
