Nursery Practitioner

If the answer is yes, then we have the perfect opportunity for you....We are expanding our Mini Explorers team for September 2023 and are looking for an Early Years Practitioner or Apprentice to join us on the journey.

You'll be working alongside children between the ages of 0-5 at our wonderfully unique outdoors nursery in Droitwich (Mainly with the toddler age range but may need to cover other staff in our pre school provision from time to time).

As well as having a passion for nurturing young children to reach their full potential, and assisting in providing outstanding early childhood experiences, the following special requirements are essential:

- You must have a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.

- You must be able to laugh at jokes you don’t understand, usually related to poo or have the punchline of poo!

- You will benefit from having a great imagination- if a child requests you to be the captain of a pirate ship, you will be the best pirate captain you can be!

- The ability to sing in tune is not required, however the ability to sing out of tune in front of a crowd of tiny people is essential!

- You must be able to distribute warm hugs as required. In the middle of winter this may be to other adults too just to keep warm!

- Possessing the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous, fast moving small people is of utmost importance.

- You must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.

-You must absolutely love the outdoors. We are what we say on the tin! In the midst of winter it isn’t pretty-it’s muddy, wet and very cold. It may not be pretty but it can still be beautiful and we need people who are prepared for and understand this.

- Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families.

Applicants must be enthusiastic, punctual and dependable. 16+ years of age. Wage exceeds national minimum wage for apprenticeships and for full and part time positions is very competitive. 30 hours per week minimum (more may be available) for apprentices and full time (35+ hours) and part time (15+ hours) availabl. For us, the most important thing is to get the right people to join our team so we will be as flexible as possible.

Successful applicants for our roles must be ready to undergo checks with previous employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
