Well here at Mayborn Group we have an exciting opportunity for a Creative Graphic Designer (CMF) to join our brilliant team, here at Mayborn Headquarters, in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Working as part of the Creative Team, the Creative Graphic Designer (CMF) will be responsible for the production of forward thinking, trend and TT ownable colour and decoration based designs across a range of products and categories.

Working with the Creative CMF Lead you will create range plans, understand commerciality of product ranges and drive our TT aesthetics across the portfolio, influence product form and application of our logo, product colour splits, product material types and finishes.

You will present your work to a number of key internal stakeholders, so strong presentation and negotiating skills are essential for this role.

What you will be doing:

  • Strong design and illustrator skills with knowledge of Adobe Software suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, Pro Create and InDesign.
  • Create and apply colour, decoration, materials, and finishes. Across hard and soft goods.
  • Working with CMF Lead interpret and understand how annual trend work can influence our ownable colour and decoration and create annual trend-based products for retailer exclusives.
  • Participate in the sharing of initial trend work (March annually) with Industrial design team, NPD, Product Portfolio, Product Managers, Factories etc. to ensure these trends are considered during scoping, business case and PDB for existing and NPD launches.
  • With support from the CMF lead collaborate internally to bring trends to life across categories, ensuring our mantra of creating a lifestyle brand is truly represented through all this work. Showcase through this work where we are now and where we are moving to and why. Sell the story and support the education of the content teams on how to talk about colour and decoration through activation.
  • Inspire the business on the importance of moving TT colour and deco work into the leading brand position, creating brand love and step changing our product appeal across categories
  • Lead any research required to support global trends.
  • Manage your workload to ensure NPD/EPD refreshes hit deadlines.
  • Research and understand the importance of trends within the baby category and how our competitors do this across the globe.
  • Work with CMF lead to understand and analyse the impact of new colour and decoration work.

  • Creative thinker

  • Ability to apply artwork to product specs
  • Willing and able to receive and decipher feedback
  • Educated to degree level
  • Minimum 5 years’ design and product development experience
  • Graphic design experience working in FMCG business or similar
  • Able to demonstrate a sound commercial understanding and a successful track record of launching consumer products and brands
  • Project management experience - use of Wrike our work management system would be preferable
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Brilliant negotiation and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of the nursery/babywear textiles/hard goods market would be preferable
