We are now looking for a Placement Student - Information Security (GRC) Analyst to join #TeamGreen in the UK. The role can be based from our Manchester-HQ, or remotely across the UK.
The Student Security Analyst works as part of the IT and Security team, running and managing technical and non-technical projects. They will assist across Security Strategy, Governance, Risk, Compliance and IT security to help mature IT security across the organisation.
What you will be doing
- Learn about Security and privacy within the content of a cloud native organisation.
- Understand the requirements placed upon us by customers or legislation.
- With input from the CISO and wider Security team, determine process and project improvements that could increase security maturity.
- Assist with IT issues and projects across a cloud native organisation
- Prepare presentations for each project detailing outcomes, lessons learned and recommendations.
- Understand how Risk and Compliance drive security programmes
Support you will get from Matillion
- 1-2-1 meetings with your mentor to actively manage your journey within Matillion.
- Work closely and learn from more experienced engineers.
- Take advantage of learning aids offered by Matillion, such as Hackday, Udemy and the Matillion Academy
What we are looking for - Technical / Role Specific
- Ability to understand and learn about concepts related to Governance, Risk and Compliance
- Willing to learn about Security concepts such as NIST/CIS20/NCSC10/MITRE
- Basic understanding of privacy regulation; CCPA/GDPR
- Basic understanding of Security technologiesBasic understanding of Risk
- Basic understanding of modern Cloud offerings and the advantages of the Cloud
- Willing to take initiative and be hands-on
- Passion for learning

- Diligent - Giving constant attention to all projects without losing track.
- Time Management - You will often be running multiple projects in parallel with different teams across the business
- Self-motivated - Faced with competing priorities and a backlog of work created by others you’ll be motivated to keep on top of it all
