Creative Digital Illustration & Design Apprenticeship - School Leaver

Here at Lucy & Lola we turn customer's photos of pets into embroidered portrait clothing and accessories. A passion for animals is desirable!

As an apprentice, you will have the exciting opportunity to work alongside our experienced team, honing your skills and expanding your knowledge in the field of digital illustration & design. You will play a key role in creating visually stunning illustrations for various projects.

As part of your employment, you will enrol with Manchester Metropolitan University on the Creative Digital Design Apprenticeship and so this role would ideally suit a recent school leaver and would be starting in August 2024. Please provide some recent illustration/art work (of pets would be ideal) with your application.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creation of original pet illustrations from customer photos using digital tools and software.
• Assist in refining illustrations based on client feedback, incorporating changes and suggestions to achieve the desired vision.
• Convert illustrations into embroidery patterns.
• Provide illustration support to various business areas including marketing and product development.
• Adhere to project timelines and manage workload effectively
• Demonstrate a proactive attitude, take ownership of assigned projects, and seek opportunities to learn and grow.

Requirements:

• A strong passion for digital illustration
• Proficiency in digital illustration software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, or equivalent tools.
• Solid drawing skills and a good understanding of composition, color theory, and anatomy.
• Familiarity with different illustration styles and the ability to adapt your style to fit project requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality illustrations within deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate and present ideas.
• Ability to take constructive feedback and make necessary changes to improve illustrations.
• Prior experience or coursework in illustration, fine arts, or related fields

This is an entry-level position in a friendly art studio environment.
