Salary from £38,313 to £46,148 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £49,614 pa inclusive of London allowance


Open-ended subject to funding, with minimum commitment of 24 months


The Care Policy and Evaluation Centre (CPEC) is an internationally recognised research centre with over 26 years of experience at the LSE. Directed by Dr Jose-Luis Fernandez, CPEC carries out high-quality research particularly in the areas of long-term care and mental health economics and policy and other health issues - across the life course – funded through research grants from a range of UK and international research funders. We place significant emphasis on impact from our research to support improvements in social and health care, and thereby improve lives.


We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and highly motivated individual to lead on internal and external communications for the Centre. The CPEC Research Communications Officer will develop and deliver integrated communication activities to share knowledge and awareness of the Centre’s internationally-leading research and support its impact on policy and practice. They will work with a vibrant and varied group of CPEC researchers at the forefront of care research to enhance the Centre’s research impact.


The role will include operationalising the Centre’s communications/knowledge exchange strategy, public events and promotion of the Centre’s research to external and internal audiences.


Candidates should have:

  • Experience of working in a communications or research dissemination role
  • Understanding of knowledge exchange and impact approaches such as networking, engagement activities, communication to professionals and the public
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write and edit for a range of purposes, styles and audiences
  • Ability to interpret and identify key results from research evidence and summarise in plain language
  • Proven track record of using social media effectively in a professional context
  • Interest in social care practice and research.

We offer hybrid working opportunities. This role is available on a full time, 0.80 FTE (4 days a week) or job share basis.
