Journalist

Do you have a passion for video journalism for digital platforms, combined with a love of London? Do you understand how to create Reels, videos for TikTok and other digital platforms?

We are looking for a talented on-screen self-shooting journalist to work with our partner LondonWorld. You will be passionate about local storytelling, and be able to bring the biggest stories to life through video, text, and pictures. You will be a genuinely multi-skilled video journalist with a passion to tell stories through your shooting, editing, researching, and reporting skills.

You must be confident in your ability both in front of and behind the camera.

This role requires travel into our London Office and you must be based in London.

Key Skills & Requirements

• To ensure LondonWorld.com is an industry leader in video, with original journalism, explainers and features
• Pitch ideas for stories, explainers and features on a daily basis, with a good understanding of what the audience is interested in
• Creative, confident, and committed
• Detailed knowledge of news, current affairs, and social trends
• Strong understanding of what audiences want from video news on social platforms
• Reporting/presenting experience
• Ability to create videos to bring stories to life on multiple platforms
• Experience using broadcast or mobile filming equipment
• Excellent writing skills
• A sound understanding of legal, ethical, and regulatory considerations
• Strong editorial judgement
• Ability to come up with fresh and engaging ideas that resonate with local people
• A journalism qualification or exceptional ability in content creation
• Able to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced daily news environment
• A willingness to learn new skills in the face of regular change
