Job Description
The Securitised Products Group (SPG) is part of Capital Markets within Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets (LBCM). The SPG business is based in London and New York and structures, markets, and distributes asset-backed securities on behalf of LBCM’s financial and corporate clients. SPG has access to the balance sheet of the Lloyds Banking Group and provides syndicated and bilateral asset-backed funding to its financial and corporate clients.
The Asset Risk Transfer (ART) desk within SPG is a client facing team that is focused on the origination, structuring and execution of credit risk transfer in synthetic and traditional securitisation formats. The ART team has an established record of issuance in UK and European markets.
The role entails working as a member of a deal team focussed on the structuring and delivery of risk transfer and other related securitisations. The successful individual will be expected to contribute to idea generation and execution of bespoke securitisation structures, working within the constraints of accounting, risk, capital, liquidity and regulatory frameworks.
This is a certified role, under the FCA Senior Managers and Certification Regime
Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the execution of synthetic and cash risk transfer securitisations for both internal and external clients.
  • Support the deal team with data analysis, portfolio modelling, creation of marketing material, managing investor due diligence meetings, review of legal documents, settlement process, and deal summaries.
  • A significant portion of the role will involve data analysis and modelling (portfolio construction and optimisation, and rating agency modelling), and the candidate will be expected to grow and develop expertise in this area.
  • Assist with coordination across Credit Sales, ABS Syndicate and other colleagues within Capital Markets.
  • Assist with communicating transaction structures to Credit Sales and Investors
  • Over time develop a deep understanding of various credit asset classes (corporate, commercial real estate, & infrastructure loans, and unsecured consumer loans & residential mortgages).
Experience Required
  • Previous experience in structuring of technical transactions obtained in a bank, insurance company or rating agency role.
  • A proven ability in numerical modelling and/or experience in the analysis of large data sets.
  • Previous experience in securitisation is desirable but not essential.
  • A level of understanding of EU/UK securitisation regulation and bank regulatory capital rules is desirable but not essential.
  • A finance related qualification such as ACA or CFA would also be beneficial.
Skills & Aptitude
  • Demonstrate excellent quantitative and analytical capabilities.
  • An ability to code, with experience in one or more languages (e.g., C++, MATLAB, VBA, SQL, Python) is a strong plus.
  • An ability to complete tasks to a high-level of accuracy whilst working under time pressure.
  • Proven communication skills, especially an ability to communicate complex ideas succinctly.
  • Ability to work effectively with peers, clients and internal functions across the bank.
  • Collaborative and a team-player.
  • Evidence of creativity and adaptability.
