The role
Kukoon is seeking a Textile Designer/Buyer to help develop our exciting range of rugs which is taking the industry by storm!
As our Textile Designer/Buyer, you'll be responsible for helping craft the perfect collection of On Trend! rugs to satisfy our lovely customers while attracting new customers through developing new designs and qualities and bringing them to market.
What else will I be doing…
- Design exquisite rugs from scratch
- Editing existing designs to add new colours and make updates
- Approving factory designs
- Industry and consumer research to discover key trends
- Writing compelling copy to make customers fall in love with our products
- Managing the briefing system for photographers to ensure the rugs are represented to an exacting standard
- Assist the marketing team with designer led content (think ‘Meet the Designer’) and help brainstorm ideas for making our brand come to life for our customers
- Ensuring factories and our internal departments are briefed to ensure the product is brought to market in a timely and effective fashion
- Help manage external factory relationships to ensure we are optimising key opportunities with supply partners
- Helping manage the product launch calendar
- Maintaining and challenging standards across all channels in keeping with our brand direction
What we're looking for in you
- We're looking for someone who can think outside the box and bring fresh ideas to the table. Someone who is truly inspired to bring beautiful products to life and isn’t afraid to push the boundaries!
- But it's not all fun and games (although it mostly is). You'll need to have keen analytical skills to delve into our data and understand what works for our customers and what doesn’t to help ensure we have a high success rate of new products coming into our collections.
- You'll be someone obsessed with homewares (textiles in particular), trends, colours, styles and the latest 'Elephant's Breath’!

- Training will be provided by our lovely designer Chloe before she departs for a new life experience involving nappies and baby cuddles!
This role is based in our Newry offices. We like to look lovingly at each other across the office floor and throw paper aeroplanes so unfortunately no remote working is available!

Contract length: 12 months
Salary: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
