‘Thinking Through Making’ is Kingston School of Art’s guiding statement of intent, aimed at providing a space where the practical experience of materials and fabrication can inform a critical perspective on how things might be made differently in the future. This provides a unique opportunity to create connections between the theoretical and the practical, balancing the evolving expectations of contemporary practice whilst exploiting the opportunities inherent within a progressive art school.

We are looking for a key person to join our growing academic team to help shape the material and constructed identity of Interior Design.

Ideal Attributes:

A postgraduate degree in Interior Design or a related discipline OR significant experience within design practice.

Significant teaching experience at undergraduate and/ or post graduate level

Experience of assessment processes and procedures in higher education

Evidence of good networking skills and awareness of future direction of this specialist subject area and key scholars in the field.

By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained). For those new to teaching, this will be through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching and for those experienced in teaching, through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.
