WHAT YOU’LL NEED


This is where it all begins. We develop the new concepts that go on to become new Jaguars and Land Rovers. So, the emphasis is on building strong strategic, technical and financial foundations right from the start.


Successful applicant will be part of a team responsible for the transportation of engineering vehicles, vehicle properties, lithium Ion batteries and associated parts from multiple collection and delivery locations within the UK to support JLR Engineering Operations (EO). Global Engineering Logistics (GEL) team complete logistic movements and requests ensuring customer requests are completed on time and in full (OTIF).


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Successful applicant will be part of a team responsible for the transportation of material and engineering vehicles from multiple collection and delivery locations within the UK to support JLR Engineering Operations (EO).
  • Manage and monitor vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules ensuring vehicles remain fully compliant.
  • Ensure DG related outbound freight and requests have the correct level of paperwork and meet all requirements relating to the carriage of dangerous goods by Air, Road and Sea (IATA, ADR and IMDG).
  • Act as POC for all driver issues that occur during a shift – including incidents and near misses.
  • Collate driver information including Digi tachographs.
  • Provide driving team with correct route and delivery/ collection information, ensuring appropriate vehicle is assigned to the request (height, weight, load, capacity and ADR licences).
  • Assist when required in the packaging of parts, material and equipment being transported both internally and internationally to meet operational requirements.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience managing a fleet of vehicles and drivers.
  • Transport and legislation knowledge.
  • Transport planning
  • ADR and CPC experience.
  • Dangerous Goods (DG) trained – ADR.
  • Full UK driving license with less than 6 penalty points and no disqualifications.
  • Knowledge of load security.
  • Knowledge of Government and European Union traffic regulations including tachographs.


Desirable

  • Experience with using Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of working time directive.
  • DG trained – IMDG/ IATA.
  • Knowledge of road network in the UK.
